Joy

Joy is

right here and now

I can’t box it up or save it for later

and though fear might tell me otherwise

it’s always available

It takes my full attention

(and that’s harder to collect on some days than others)

but when I do manage to bring myself all to one place

and to taste or touch or smell or see or hear

just

one

thing

that one thing becomes joy to me.

Joy to the world

The LORD is come.
