A Prayer for your Spinning Brain

When your quickened pulse and spinning brain don’t match what’s happening in your day,
May you trust yourself enough to know it’s not made up

When you want to move on to the getting-things-done part of your schedule,
May you release yourself to be where you are

When you’re not sure if it’s pandemic life or normal life or just an upset stomach,
May you allow yourself to feel the way you feel, no excuses necessary

When you feel like you’re trying to solve the world’s problems with a battery-operated calculator,
End world hunger with a sandwich,
Refill an ocean with an eyedropper,
Clean up a hurricane with a kitchen sponge,
Or remove yesterday’s dryer load before today’s wash finishes

May you discover in your not-enough his more-than-enough grace.
